Events

Our annual Mahendra Nath Rotary Foundation Challenge will kick off on Monday, March 10th. Don Stiles who is the District 5950 Rotary Founda-tion Committee Chair, will be our speaker. This is the 18th year in a row that we, as a whole club, will set our goal to achieve 100% participation from all members in donating to The Rotary Foundation.

The Rotary Foundation (TRF) is the international foundation of Rotary provid-ing resources for District and Global Grants around the world meeting needs of people in the areas of clean water & sanitation, maternal healthcare, disease prevention, economic development, peace efforts, and improved education. Also, Polio eradication is a goal for all of Rotary with TRF leading the way with millions of dollars funding the effort.

Don Stiles is a Past President of our club (2007-08). He has served the District as Global Grant Chair, District Grant Chair, STRIVE Chair, and District Grant Treasurer. Don joined Rotary in 2001. He has traveled the world and throughout the US visiting grant projects. (Leslie often accompanies him.) He has even administered polio drops to children while in India. He has written, reviewed, and resolved hundreds of Rotary grants at the Club, District, and TRF levels over the years. A little known fact about Don, he performed off-Broadway and toured nationally in musicals as a singer/actor/dancer 52 years ago! Don is pictured here shaking the bronze hand of Paul Harris, Rotary founder.
