Chartered in 1961, Bloomington Rotary has a wide variety of men and women members. They range from new, younger members to charter members.
The Bloomington Rotary Club Foundation was chartered as a non-profit organization (501(c)(3)) on December 1, 1989, by Rotarians Jack Carlson and Milo Engelstad along with several others who served as the first Board of Directors for the Foundation.
Mission Statement:
The mission of the Bloomington Rotary Club Foundation is to first award scholarships and financial aid to graduates of Bloomington High Schools, and secondly, to support other charitable organizations serving Bloomington citizens or other Bloomington Rotary Club local and international projects. Eligible scholarship recipients include students in the Bloomington Noon Rotary Club’s STRIVE Program and high achieving students with limited financial resources.
Over time, through individual donations and club fundraising efforts, the foundation has established a fund which is being used annually to support the above efforts articulated in the Mission.
Notably, in 2025, Bloomington Rotary Club Foundation was able to donate funds to support higher education scholarships over the next five years to the following entities:
The Foundation also supports several local, regional, and international non-profit organizations serving the community of Bloomington and our partner communities in rural India through its annual Charitable Partner Grants.
