The following members have join Bloomington Noon Rotary since March of
2005. We welcome them to our membership and look forward to getting to
know them over the course of their involvement in Rotary.
Brian Emerson
Brian is President of Mortgage Resources, Inc. They
specialize in commercial and multi-family property
financing and investment property loans. Brian has
29 years of experience in Real Estate.
He and his wife have one daughter, who is currently
studying at the Carlson School of Business. Brian is
looking forward to getting involved in Rotary.
Jim Wenthold
An Iowa Hawkeye through and through, Jim was
born and raised in Iowa and still owns and
manages a dairy farm there.
His classification is Commercial Real Estate and
he specializes in industrial sales and leasing,
investment sales and land. He is Vice President of
Colliers Turley Martin Tucker. He has his MBA from
the University of Iowa.
Jim and his wife of 35 years, Kathy, have two children, Kristi and Dave.
They have lived in Bloomington for 34 years and are active members of St.
Edward’s Catholic Church. Jim’s college baseball career made him a
“natural” as a youth baseball coach where he coached the 1998 – 12 Year
Old State Champions and the 1993 – 15 Year Old Babe Ruth State
Champions. He alsoloves golf and fishing!
Gladys (Gigi) Brecht
A native Italian by birth, Gigi was a world traveler before
the age of five when her family finally settled in
Owatonna, MN. After graduation, Gigi lived and studied
in many states until she resettled in Owatonna in 1993,
where her two sons were able to graduate from the
same High School she did.
Her various careers have included secretary, sales
representative, real estate sales, and insurance. She
currently works at Acordia in commercial insurance, the
career that she has enjoyed most.
Her hobbies include golfing, running and traveling. She completed her first
marathon in 2004 in Ashland, WI. She is now working toward the Twin Cities
Marathon in October.
Sandhya Gupta
An emerging woman leader in Bloomington, active in the
League of Women Voters and serving as the Vice
President of the India Association of Minnesota, Sandhya
Gupta, was inducted as our newest member
today. She is sponsored by John Houle.
Sandhya was born in Danapur, India. She was educated
in India and the United States, and in 1998, received her
PhD as an electrical engineer. She works at VTC as a
Principal Process Development Engineer.
She is married to husband, Sarit Sharma, and has a three year old daughter. Her
hobbies are running and biking. As she tells it, she was the first girl to ride a
bicycle in her community in India and is still riding. She is anxious to be a part of
Rotary, to get to know everyone and to “start doing her part to build a stronger
community.”
Colin Evenson
We welcome Colin Evenson as the newest member of
Bloomington Noon. He is Vice-President and Co-Owner of
Cities Edge Architects in Bloomington. He manages the
day-to-day operations of the company. Colin grew up in the
small agricultural town of Parshall, ND. Colin loved
wrestling. He attended North Dakota State in Fargo
graduating with a Bachelor of Architecture degree. He met
his future wife during this time. Colin began his career in
Dallas, TX, but moved back to Minnesota in 1984 working for
Opus and Amcon until he began his own business in 1997.
Colin and wife Lavonne will celebrate their 21st wedding anniversary later this
week. They have two children, Carley, 14, and Aaron, 12. The family enjoys
skiing and time at their “perpetually under construction” lake home in Wisconsin.
The Evensons recently moved to a new home on Nesbitt Avenue in Bloomington.
Colin is looking forward to being an active new member. Take time to get to know
him better.

Meet Our Newest Member - Ghidei Zedingle
Born and raised in the horn of Africa, in the country of
Eritrea, Ghidei was first introduced to Rotary as an
Ambassadorial Scholar in 2001. He studied at the
University of California, San Diego, and participated in
Rotary activities with his host club, LaJolla Golden
Triangle.
He received his PhD in Mathematics from the University of Lodz,
Poland, and taught several years at the University of Asmara, Eritrea.
After his time in California,he then taught in Texas, and is now at
Normandale Community College as a professor of mathematics.
Ghidei is interested in giving back through Rotary because of all he
received from Rotary. We are proud to welcome him.
Meet Our Newest Member - Don Peterson
Overseeing two Bloomington Hotels, Comfort Inn and
Quality Inn Suites, and three hotels in Central Illinois,
keeps Don busy in his position as Director of
Operations. Don and his wife Maureen are proud
parents of two girls. Their oldest is a Freshman at Butle
University in Indiana, and the youngest is a Junior at
Jefferson High School.
Don and his family have lived in Bloomington since 1989. He is
looking forward to his work as a Rotarian and to getting to know each
of us better. We are very proud to welcome Don Peterson to the
Bloomington Noon Rotary.
Meet Our Newest Member - Jeff Andrews
After three years in the mortgage management
business, Jeff Andrews struck out on his own forming
Navigation Mortgage in January, 2005. He built the
company on the principle of a great value for a fair price.
Jeff helps his clients with their real estate needs
including mortgage financing, investment property
acquisitions, and overall business development.
Jeff is an active participant in the Bloomington community through his
work with the Bloomington Community Foundation, the Bloomington
Traffic and Transportation Advisory Commission, the SouthRiver
Networkers chapter of BNI and the Bloomington Chamber of
Commerce. Jeff’s sense of community is behind Navigation Mortgage’
s commitment to donate 1% of gross revenues back to the community.
Jeff is a graduate of Bethel College and lives in Bloomington with his
grade school sweetheart, Debbie. He is an avid player of poker and
loves playing golf.
